problem compiling SavvyCAN

hello,
I'm struggling to compile this and have run out of ideas.
Hope somebody can help . I've downloaded Qt 5.9 and savvyCan binary ok but when i try the following ,
this is what I get

john@john-ThinkPad-T400:~$ cd SavvyCAN
john@john-ThinkPad-T400:~/SavvyCAN$ ~/Qt5.9.0/5.9/gcc_64/bin/qmake
/home/john/Qt5.9.0/5.9/gcc_64/mkspecs/features/toolchain.prf:129: Variable QMAKE_CXX.COMPILER_MACROS is not defined.

i had the same problem and i solved when i changed the route :

john@john-ThinkPad-T400:~/SavvyCAN$ ~/Qt5.9/5.9.2/gcc_64/bin/qmake

original route it was : Qt5.9.2/5.9.2/gcc_64/bin/qmake and changed like this (( Qt5.9/5.9.2/gcc_64/bin/qmake )) and then I could compile well.
