Welcome from the UK was created by StephanT
hi,
been playing with reversing some CAN-bus stuff for motorcycles - been looking for a good (but cost effective) tool... Super impressed with what I see from SavvyCAN and look forward to using it...
I mainly have a MAC, although there is an old WIN10 netbook somewhere that could be used...
Any interfaces that anyone would recommend for MAC (or Win)? - I saw the EVTVDue and CANDue hardware, but would need to order it from the US... I saw the link to Teensy 3.x and found something like this in the UK:
skpang.co.uk/catalog/teensy-canbus-break...eensy-32-p-1507.html
I saw a projects on GIThub...
Would that (a) work? and (b) what would the steps be? (many years ago I used to be an E&E but many years of management have taken their toll... (aiming to sharpen that blade again, but at present `I would not rate my coding skills)
thanks,
Steph

Well, there's a MacOS version of SavvyCAN so you should be OK there.
The SKPang board might work. I did make a version of the firmware for Teensy: github.com/collin80/TeensyRET
But, it might require some modification for the SKPang board, I don't know.
For best compatibility the EVTV stuff is the way to go. Otherwise many other boards could work but might require a couple of modifications to the source code. It's possible that some pins are different.

I agree on the EVTV stuff.. shame about the shipping cost though..
I'm based in the UK.. and when I wanted to check out two options, either UPS or USPS... and the cheapest option for either was:
UPS: $224.33
USPS: $87.95
Which is just insane...
I had just ordered a 8devices usb2can and UPS shipping was $16....
best
Stephan

Hmmm.. just thinking about it... Do you need a UK/European distrib? Let's talk over email if you're interested

You'd have to contact EVTV directly for that. Ask for Jack. I'm not involved in the business decisions.
